Today we are going to see how to make less oily and perfect puri. Puri is generally made on festive days like Gudhi padwa, dasara etc. Today we will make such that will absorb less oil. Yes, here are a few tips to make crispy and fluffy puri that absorbs minimum oil. I will give you few tips and tricks during the video. Puri is a popular puffed Indian bread. It is prepared form wheat flour and deep fried. It is mostly enjoyed on festival days with different Indian desserts. The puries should be fluffy and soft. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Do not forget to like, share and subscribe.
Ingredients:
• 2 cups Wheat flour
• Salt to taste
• Water
• Oil for frying
Method:
• Mix wheat flour and salt well and add a little water at a time to knead stiff dough.
• Cover and rest the dough for at least 15-20 minutes.
• Knead the dough well once more until it becomes smooth and even.
• You can make small dough balls and roll puris from it.
• Or divide the dough into 2 parts and make one of them smooth and even. It has to be
smooth.
• Keep the left over dough always covered.
• Roll out a big chapatti from the dough. The chapatti should be even.
• Avoid use of oil or dry flour while rolling the puri.
• Make puris with the help of a katori or a lid.
• Heat up oil on medium heat.
• While dropping puri in hot oil make sure the smooth side should face downwards and the
rolled side should be upper side.
• Drop puri in hot oil and fry well on medium to high heat.
• Press a little and when lower side is fried well flip the puri over and fry well from other side
too.
• When puri is fried well from other side too, take it out, drain excess oil and transfer it into
dish. Puri is all ready.
Tips:
• Avoid use of water while kneading the dough. Do not use hot or cold water when you knead
dough.
• Always knead stiff dough.
• Never make puris immediately after kneading dough. Rest the dough for at least 15-20
minutes.
• Avoid use of oil or dry flour while rolling the puri.
• Make sure you fry each side of puri once. Avoid flipping puri many times.
