Welcome aboard Air Europa flight 1302, with non-stop service to Madrid-Barajas International airport from Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport! Today we will be flying on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner configured in Air Europa’s old business class configuration.
Flights to Europe from Tel Aviv are unique in the sense that they frequently see wide-body operations despite their relatively short distances. Many of these wide-body planes often include airlines’ long-haul business-class products, meaning that you can enjoy a long-haul flight experience without having to travel extremely far or having to pay a lot of money. Today’s flight is no exception, with Air Europa deploying its 787-9 for the 5-hour journey.
In my opinion, this flight was very scenic, as there were a few points of interest while flying across the Mediterranean Sea. After takeoff, we fly over the Greek resort Island of Crete, where Chania airport can be seen. We then fly over Sicily and Sardinia, both of which are islands that are part of Italy. About an hour before arrival, we make landfall near Barcelona, where we get a cool nighttime view of the city and Spanish coastline. We then begin our descent into Barajas Airport, where we soon touch down on Runway 32R. After a long taxi, we then deplane via the stairs and are driven to the terminal by bus.
