Banosh is a fragrant and tender corn porridge native to Western Ukraine. In the classic version, it is cooked in milk and served with cheese. I decided to change the recipe a bit and added oyster mushrooms and pickled onions to the banosh. And you know, it turned out just incredibly tasty! I urge you to cook this wonderful dish of Ukrainian cuisine.
INGREDIENTS for cooking Banosh with Mushrooms:
150 g of corn grits
450 ml of milk
100-150 g of mushrooms
100 ml of apple cider vinegar (or wine)
½-1 onion
200 ml of water
20 g of butter
1 st. l. vegetable oil
1 st. l. cream
50 g of hard cheese
salt and pepper to taste
