Bat speed is the single most important factor that separates average hitters from great hitters. The faster a baseball or softball player can swing the bat, the harder they will hit the ball, and the more success they will have. Everybody wants a quick fix drill to help "fix their swing" and get them the results at the plate the crave (Sorry, but there are no quick fixes when it comes to swing speed training)
If you ACTUALLY want to improve bat speed and become a better hitter you NEED to train your muscles to become quicker and stronger. This is exactly what overload/under load training does, but the missing element that nobody talks about is how to PROPERLY TRAIN for bat speed and see quantifiable results.
To be effective in our bat speed training efforts, you need train with a program that works along with being able to accurately and reliably measure your bat speed on every swing during a training sessions. This can only be done by isolating the tip of the bat - the only consistent variable that can be measured. This is why swing analyzers on the knob of the bat give inconsistent feedback during training sessions. Inconsistent feedback when training will give inconsistent results.
