Dal curry
Ingredients
1. Tuvar dal – 1 cup
2. Chopped big onion – 1 cup
3. Chopped tomato – ¾ cup
4. Chopped ginger - ½ to ¾ ”
5. Chopped Garlic – 1 bulb
6. Chopped green chilli – 4 to 5
7. Salt – to taste
8. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
9. Chilli powder – 2 to 3 pinch
10. Jaggery - 2 pinch
11. Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbs
Seasoning
12. Ghee / oil – 1 to 2 tbsp
13. Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
14. Red chilli - 1 to 2
Preparation 1. Pressure cook the dal with salt & turmeric powder .
2. Heat the ghee & season with cumin seeds & red chilli, sauté garlic, ginger & green chilli followed by big onion.
3. When the big onion becomes transparent & sautéed, add tomato, sauté till oil separates, add chilli powder if need be & stir.
4. Add the boiled tuvar dal & enough water & a speck of jaggery. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
