There is a folk belief that during the winter solstice,
people make red bean porridge to ward off bad luck.
I think my appetite will come back with a bowl of
this red bean soup.

[RECIPE]
Ingredients
2 cups (320g) of red beans
6 cups of water
½ cup of salt
¾ cup of raw sugar (½ cup of sugar, ⅓ cup of honey)
1 teaspoon of salt
80g of injeolmi(glutinous rice cake)
a little pine nut powder
Preparation)
1. Put red beans, water (6 cups), and salt (½ cup) in a pot and boil over high heat with the lid open for about 10 minutes.
2. Discard the initial boiling water and rinse the red beans in cold water.
3. Add red beans and water (8 cups) to the pot, cover and boil over high heat for another 30 minutes.
4. Turn off the heat, let cool, and set aside 2½ cups of boiled red beans.
5. Add 1 cup of water to step 3, put it in a mixer and grind finely.
6. Strain the red beans and put them in a pot. Add the separately set red beans, raw sugar, and salt and boil for a while.
7. Place the red bean porridge in a bowl and top with injeolmi and pine nut powder.
