We don't always have to paint the colours that are there in our subject. In fact quite often our paintings become far more exciting and dramatic when we don't.
Not only that, it is just really, really fun and can be the area where we really inject our own personality into the painting.
In this watercolour video we look at how to simplify our subject using 4 tonal values and how this frees us up to play around with colour much more!
