My family and I moved into my parents' old house at the end of December, and it is still cold when the cold weather sets in in mid-January.
Since we haven't packed up our belongings yet, we can't use the relatively warmer room yet. We have no choice but to gather in the kitchen, which is the warmest part of the house. At night, we rely on warm bedding and hot water bottles.
The other day, when I was cleaning out the cardboard boxes, I found a coat left by my grandmother. It is light and warm, so I decided to wear it inside the house. My grandmother would be appalled, but it is quite a nice coat. Thanks a lot!
Today is Sunday, so my second son had a snack with me. The snack was Japanese sweets from a nearby Japanese sweets shop, Yokan-ya Honpo. My husband went to buy it with me because he has known this yokan shop since kindergarten. This is how we introduce our friends in the neighborhood. If my husband can make friends, this place will become more familiar to him.
