On the day of the Japan Airlines Jumbo plane crash on August 12, 1985, I was in the first grade of junior high school, and one of the survivors was the same age.
This is the third time I have visited the ridge of Mitsutaka at a distance.
The first was about ten years ago, and I managed to reach the parking lot in the evening of August 13. It was almost time for the crash in a large chorus of insects at the trailhead where no one was present. The valley darkened unexpectedly quickly, and the ground was closed to darkness except for the brightness of the sky immediately after sunset, but I was at ease.
What a gentle atmosphere it is!
The signs of lively movement of living things in the mountains of midsummer covered the area.
For a long time, many people cherished this place, and I thought that it would have become such a calm and peaceful mountain, and even though it was sunny overhead, I could hear distant thunder, lightning reached the bottom of the valley, and it began to rain soon. .. It's heavy rain. When I drove the car back from the parking lot and went through the tunnel to Ueno Dam, I was completely surrounded by the brightness of the clear evening sky.
And last time was August 9th last year.
A friend of mine below the lid also went out on the way from Nobeyama through the grape pass, but as soon as he reached the trailhead, it became a guerrilla rainstorm. I decided to go back after eating two sandwiches I bought at a stand near Nobeyama station, eating them in the car, and raining. When I got off to Ueno Dam, it became fine again.
I think the ridge of Mitsutaka is a mysterious place.
This time I decided to go to the monument to the soul.
Climbing was tough as a result of the lack of exercise for several months that I had been lazy to take advantage of the corona wreck from spring!
I was out of breath, and on the last climb I had to hold my breath for a couple of seconds each time I stopped. It seems that local high school students are climbing up and offering a thousand paper cranes, etc., and they also listen to their chorus.
I sang "Let's walk upwards" ...
I cried backwards under my mask and sunglasses.
By the way, I'm really thinking about writing 5000 characters, which is full of the character limit in the summary column of the video. I have a very unsettling personal feeling about the ridge of Mitsutaka and Japan Airlines Flight 123, so I will write it in a different way.
Addendum: Also, the road to the entrance of the mountain trail is rough this year, but probably due to the typhoon last year and the corona disaster this year, it is better every year 👍
