This video installment presents Part 2 of the Jones H-Bar installation on my Priority 600 touring bike. If you are interested in the nut & bolts of swapping out your Priority 600 flat bars for and alternative bar with multiple hand positions, view the Part 1 video on the process.
Up front… This is a discussion about the Jones H-Bar Butted 2.5, utilizing a bracket extension for an already owned Ortlieb handlebar bag, and the application of ESI silicone bar grips. None of these three companies has a relationship with my channel or me and all items were purchased by me at full cost.
Today’s video covers three procedures…
1. The installation of the Ortlieb Handlebar Bag mounting bracket which had to be used to extend the bag to fit just beyond the top loop of the Jones Bar. This had to attach to the metal of the bar adjacent to stem. This first installation allowed me to set the staring points for the Bar Tape.
2. The bar tape installation was cramped with a change of direction going from wrapping the bottom bar to then moving up to the top bar. Here is an excellent link that covers the bar taping process in detail - https://youtu.be/Lqly3gO--cE
3. Finally, the application of the silicone grips is pretty straight forward with trimming neatly being the only real problem. If you plan on doing using these grips, I provide a “no trim” tip for you at the end so hang in there or skip forward.
