MoselRadweg #3 Bremm, Bullay, Zell, Pünderich, Enkirch [ Radtouren Radreisen ]
In the third part of our Moselle cycle tour we continue on the left side of the Moselle by Ediger-Eller through the impressive Calmont region (Calmont means as much as warm mountain) along the beautiful Bremmer-Moselschleife.
The vineyard location on the rocky Calmont with a height of 378 meters and a slope of about 65 degrees is the steepest vineyard in Europe.
Shortly before Neef we change to the other side of the Moselle and drive on the right side past the barrage St. Adelgund to the gate of the Mittelmosel to Bullay.
This is where the Zeller-Moselschleife begins.
The railway line of the Moselbahn was considerably shortened by the Prinzenkopftunnel, which starts in Bullay and ends in Pünderich on the other side.
Not only wine is made from the Moselle grapes, but also an excellent sparkling wine. In Merl, the sparkling wine cellar Treis even received the title of royal purveyor for its first-class sparkling wine.
Halfway between Koblenz and Trier lies the beautiful town of Zell.
The well-known wine situation and the trademark of the city is the "Zeller Schwarze Katz". The story we tell you in detail in the video.
We stay on the right side and continue from Zell to Briedel and Pünderich below Marienburg. On the opposite side we can see the end of the Prinzenkopf Tunnel, which is adjoined by the 768 m long Hangviadukt with its 97 round arches, the longest slope viaduct in Germany.
In Enkirch, a small village known as the "treasure trove of Rhenish village architecture", this part ends.
It continues in the 4th part of the Moselradtour to Traben-Trarbach and Bernkastel-Kues.
Until then we wish you all the best.
