This video covers a few tips and ideas that have helped me develop my drawing skills over the past few years. Drawing floral tooling designs for leather work can be a big challenge for most of us who don't consider ourselves artistic or creative. I have spent countless hours studying, sketching, and pulling my hair out trying to gain confidence around drawing. It is a never ending learning process, but I do believe there is a point where you can find your confidence and start drawing your own ideas that are unique and look very cool in leather. I hope this video is a positive stepping stone along your journey!
The leather I am working with in this video is Hermann Oak full grain natural vegetable tanned leather.
The pencils I primarily use are 8B graphite pencils that are available at most craft stores or online.
All of the drawing aids that I show can also be found at most craft stores or online!
