Prepare vegetarian Char Siu quickly and easily!
Seitan is the best substitute meat for vegetarians. Seitan can be used in many different dishes, and vegetarian char Siu is one of those delicious foods that vegetarians are very fond of.
Ingredients for seitan:
- 200 g wheat gluten
- 280 g warm water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Spices:
- 750 ml water
- 50 g spice mix for grilled meat
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 50 ml wine
- 1 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce / vegetarian oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Hoi Sin sauce
for frying:
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp honey
