Hello Friends this week we are answering the question "Why pans don't burn in the oven " and talking about thermal conductivity and how it helps us in the kitchen. The week we are making a family favorite desert, creme brûlée, and making a non-burning rope. So grab your supplies and follow along. Our new episode starts now!
-Non-Burning Rope
a cotton rope
a stick
5 g Alum powder
warm water
lighter (please asking a grownup from help)
Dissolve the alum powder into the warm water and add the cotton rope and let soak for 10 mins.
Lay rope flat and allow to completely dry.
-Creme Brûlée
1 C. Heavy Whipping Cream
1.4 C Sugar
1/2 t. Vanilla
4 Egg yolks
4 tsp sugar for topping
1. Preheat over to 325 degrees.
2. Add whipping cream and sugar to a small pot over med -low heat and stir till sugar dissolved. Add vanilla and remove from heat to cool.
3. Preheat once cooled whisk in eggs yolks. Fill 4 4oz ramekins. Place ramekins in roasting or baking dish and fill the dish half way with boiling water. Place in oven and cook for 25 min.
4. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. once they reach room temp place them in the fridge to completely cool.
5. When ready to eat sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar and torch till crust forms and sugar is a gold brown. serve immediately.
