When you step onto the vast land of Xinjiang, you will be overwhelmed by not only the rich exotic atmosphere, but also the alluring aroma in the air. This is a paradise for food lovers and a silk road on the tip of your tongue.
In the morning, I was awakened by the aroma of baked buns. Following the aroma, I walked into a Uyghur breakfast shop. The golden baked buns have a crispy crust. Take a bite, and the boiling mutton soup bursts in your mouth, mixed with the fragrance of the buns, instantly awakening your taste buds. Paired with a bowl of mellow milk tea, you can start a day full of energy.
Walking in the streets of the old city of Kashgar, I was attracted by a burst of cheerful shouting. I saw a Uyghur uncle skillfully flipping the lamb skewers on the grill. The charcoal fire roasted the skewers until they were sizzling with oil, and sprinkled with cumin and chili powder, the aroma was overflowing. I couldn't wait to take a bite. The lamb was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was tender and juicy, and the rich meat aroma lingered in my mouth for a long time.
At noon, I walked into a very distinctive pilaf restaurant. The steaming hot pilaf was served on the table. The golden rice grains were distinct, dotted with carrots, raisins and mutton, colorful and appetizing. I imitated the locals and kneaded the pilaf into a ball with my hands and put it into my mouth. The sweetness of the rice, the deliciousness of the mutton, and the softness of the carrots intertwined in my mouth to create a wonderful taste.
In the evening, I came to the night market, where the lights were bright and the crowds were bustling. Roasted whole lamb, big plate chicken, spicy chicken, pulled noodles, naan pit meat... all kinds of food were dazzling. I ordered a big plate chicken, tender chicken, soft and glutinous potatoes, and chewy belt noodles, soaked in rich soup, spicy and satisfying, making people want to stop.
In Xinjiang, food is not only a taste bud enjoyment, but also a cultural experience. Behind every dish, there is a long history and unique customs. Whether it is the warm and hospitable Uyghur compatriots or the generous and straightforward Kazakh friends, they will use the most authentic food to express the most sincere friendship.
This Xinjiang food tour allowed me to appreciate the unique charm of Silk Road cuisine and feel the hospitality of the Xinjiang people. This land not only has magnificent natural scenery, but also has an unforgettable food culture. I believe that this journey on the tip of my tongue will become the most beautiful chapter in my memory.#chinesefood #streetfood #xinjiang #halalfood
