Udadachi ghari is a authentic traditional Konkani recipe. It is made on festive days for naivedyam. It doesn’t require many ingredients. It can be made from just main ingredient. It turns nice, crunchy. You can call it a type of pakoda. It tastes juts awesome and much easy to make. It is a really quick recipe. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 1 cup Urad dal
• 3~4 Green chilies
• 1/2 tsp red chili powder
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• Black pepper powder
• A pinch of Hing
• Salt to taste
• Curry leaves
• Oil for frying
Method:
• Wash urad dal really good 3-4 times with water and soak it in enough water for at least 2
hours.
• Strain all the water from soaked dal and let the dal dry for about 10-15 minutes.
• Transfer the soaked dal into a blender jar and add green chili.
• Blend both together into coarse paste without using any water.
• Transfer the batter into a dish and add red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, black
pepper powder, hing, salt, curry leaves.
• Mix everything well together.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Drop ghari in hot oil and fry well on low to medium heat until these get nice golden color from
all sides.
• When ghari is fried well, take it out, drain excess oil and transfer into a dish.
• Udida ghari is all ready.
• You can have these vade as it is or with chutney.
• You can make around 20 ghari from 1 cup urad dal.
