The P-1 is unprecedented in the world in that (1) the airframe, (2) the engine, and (3) the onboard systems were all specially designed and developed for the ideal patrol aircraft suitable for the missions required by the JMSDF.
This time, I will focus on the P-1 patrol plane's (2) engine.
In addition to the performance and features of the F7 engine installed on the aircraft, we will also explain the research and development of the "5-ton thrust class engine" that they have been seeking since the 1960s.
In addition to demonstrating the performance of the P-1 in the video series, I would like to ultimately convey that the P-1 was a good choice as a patrol aircraft for the situations expected in the waters surrounding Japan, based on an overall judgment.
