Another machine saved and added to my Gorenje washing machine collection! Another restoration and repair, how can you say no?!
It was bought and saved from scrap. It was left outside on snow, so sadly some corrosion is visible on top cover plate. It needed a full clean, water pump was rebuild with new mechanical seal and shaft lubrication. Durring first 90°C wash some more problems showed up. Electrical door latch has failed, water valves started to leak (original ones were completly rusty and with wrong hoses) and maybe some bearing noise started at spin speed.
Main bearing and mechanical seal were replaced just to keep machine in top working condition.
Combination of sound of original Iskra water pump and Rade Končar motor, really brings that nostalgia! Yugonostalgia!
