A very good condition, working and functional 15" Thinkpad A22m with the flared palmrest, running Windows 98. I fetch it out, start it up, and try out some cool things on it.

The Thinkpad A22m is the most common variant of the A22, which is the best base version of the first generation of vintage A-series Thinkpads, or "three-spindle laptops". So named because it had a floppy drive and a CD Drive (in an Ultrabay which could be swapped out for any Ultrabay 2000 device) in addition to its regular storage HDD. This offered a lot of removable and swappable storage utility in the laptop's own chassis profile, which made it an exceptionally flexible mobile computing station.

The A22 was succeeded by the A30 which offered two full Ultrabays instead of just one paired with a chassis-tailored Floppy Drive. However, the A22 lives on as one of the more fascinating, now vintage Thinkpad models and is also considered an exceptional retro-gaming rig, especially for DOS games due to the Floppy drive, exceptional audio card, ATI Rage graphics, and the hardware's optimal ability to natively run a Windows 9x environment.
