Recipe for: Katino Meze - Traditional Bulgarian Dish of Tender Pork Chops with Onions and Mushrooms!
Necessary products:
700 g pork neck, cut into pieces
4 onions, cut into thin half-moons
200 g of mushrooms, roughly chopped
The juice of half a lemon
30 g of cow butter
100 ml. water
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Oil
Half a bunch of parsley, finely chopped
Method of preparation:
Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add the pork and cook covered for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the onion and mushrooms and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
Add the water, salt, black pepper and chopped parsley. Stir well.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for about 20 minutes.
Turn off the heat and add the butter and lemon juice. Stir well.
Transfer the mixture to a baking tray.
Bake at 180 degrees, without a fan, in the lower part of the oven, for about 30-40 minutes.
Sprinkle the finished dish with fresh parsley and serve.
