In this video lesson, we will design and simulate a single-section coupler using stripline and microstrip line technologies in Ansys HFSS. We will discuss the nature of electromagnetic fields inside stripline and microstrip technologies. We will show the effect on coupling by varying the gap between the traces. We will also simulate the model with SMA Connector, which is derived by updating the inbuilt HFSS 3D component to meet the actual working conditions. We will also wrap the single-section coupler model onto a curved surface to see the effect on coupling between the planar and wrapped models.
