Hello everyone,
I've been pushing very hard to get projects and work done in time for the holiday season and this past week has been a very high-anxiety one for me -- multiple panic attacks and a myriad of symptoms associated with them that have really challenged me -- but I'm still standing and really wanted to get this miniature-making video out to you because I DO find that making things helps my stress and anxiety and I hear from you that it does for you, too -- and you also have lots of other really good suggestions for coping when anxiety strikes - so let's be anxious and make tiny things together haha, and maybe by the end of it, we'll feel a little better.
The Christmas pudding, or plum pudding as we call it in our family, is much-anticipated treat and I love these tiny cotton versions. The tiny packages are very simple but also very rewarding, they are an instant little shot of happy and a super way to use up pretty bits of fabric and paper you've saved. And the tiny houses I show probably don't get quite enough time in this tutorial but I hope you see enough to try making a few yourself - I was thinking of my Aunt Lesa as I made the gingerbread version, who used to make the most elaborate gingerbread houses.. missing her and my grandma lots especially at this season.
One other wonderful thing about these little miniatures is that they all reuse materials, small bits of them yes, but they're ways to recycle all the same and that's a nice bonus.
I did make a printable file for the miniature wrapping papers and you can find that here: https://sweethavensanctuary.org/shop/printable-file-miniature-vintage-wrapping-papers-for-tiny-packages-for-dollhouses-and-ornaments
I'm using the cornstarch paste I shared last week for these cotton makes, which you can find here: https://youtu.be/ZTDzHoPGXDE
If you missed the vintage ornament video that this one is a companion to, you can find that here: https://youtu.be/3iGOwSudWug
I hope you'll enjoy watching, listening, or making along with me, and that you'll make some tiny things that bring you comfort and joy.
Thanks so much for supporting my work and the channel and happy making to you!
xo, Rosanna
