Hello everyone,
I don't know if I'll get a real gingerbread house made this year but I'm happy I made a few of these mini versions - they're simple and quick and made from recycled and household materials. They would be perfect for dolls and dollhouses or any miniature setting or they could be added to a cotton sculpted mouse or bird or you could make a tiny gingerbread village. They're also lovely for a gift topper.
If you have some spicy essential oils like cinnamon or clove, I recommend adding a few drops to your cornstarch mix or your glue mix, it will add to the festive atmosphere as you create and make the ornament smell good - at least for a while :)
you can find the starch video here: https://youtu.be/ZTDzHoPGXDE
Hope you're having a lovely holiday season and making some good things and good memories. Thanks for all your support and kindness this past year.
Wishing you happy making!

17:02 - beginning to paint - demonstrating with coffee and watercolor (I recommend painting dry rather than while the fiber is wet)
20:26 - painting detail with white acrylic paint (I recommend watering it down to make it more liquid)
25:18 - looking at the coffee painted house I painted while wet (so you can see how coffee looks and how it can bleed into the roof if painted wet)
