Cafe SO Good I Ate 6 Times in 5 Days:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzmz0Mx3V7Y
WELCOME TO KOH SAMUI! Its actually my first time to ever visit (living in Thailand now for 13 years!), and I am so happy that my first chance is also a time when Li can join me... yahoo!!
We are very excited to be here, and during this one-week trip we are very excited to explore the natural abundant green gorgeous scenery, the beaches that are so famous, and of course, try and find some excellent and authentic Thai food here as well.
TRAVEL INFO:
You can fly directly to the island from Bangkok, Thailand's capital city, but we wanted to make it a little more interesting (and ok, maybe also save quite a bit of money). We flew to the Surat Thani main town, rented a motorbike, aaaaaand drove directly to the nearest noodle cart. :-D
THEN I proceeded to unpack my bicycle, keeping the bike box safe with the wonderful family from whom we rented the motorbike (see their rental page here - https://www.facebook.com/XRentals), and when we hit the road, Li drove the motorbike alongside me as I rode the bicycle TO the ferry to Koh Samui.
In the rainy season I am the most happy, because everything here is so GREEN! The two hour trip takes you through beautiful countryside and back-roads, and once you reach the ferry, there's a chance to cool off, and taste the first glorious lung-fulls of some supremely CLEAN Southern Thai ocean air. Wow.
The ferry takes about 90 minutes, and costs about 7$US per person. Pay for a motorbike, you get one passenger for free,... paying for a bicycle the same!
On the island you have to take a second transport from the ferry pier to your accomodation (you can see where we stayed), usually a Red Truck ("Rote Songtaew") costs about 3$ a person, a taxi around 10$ per trip, BUT we were still ready with our own transportation, so we were off!
Checking into the hotel, we immediately were ready for dinner and so thats it, the story of how we found our way to UNCLE FROG'S FOOD-MADE-TO-ORDER... and thank you very much for joining us for dinner :)
LOCATION:
I cannot seem to find the place on Google Maps...
It was a small place, but they had such a nice sign and a nice menu,
I thought for sure they would have a map location! So, here is the
place where Li and I stayed, which was walking distance to the restaurant...
