In this video I talk about becoming a florist in 2025. I address both working for yourself as a business owner and working as a florist for someone else either as an employee or a freelancer.
Here is my general advice for becoming a florist:
Learn as much as you can about flowers
Build a portfolio
Market Yourself
Here are my anecdotal thoughts and personal experience which may help you decide to become a florist or start a florist business in 2025.
Uncertainty is high for 2025
Consumers are responding to high prices
If you are determined to start a floral business be diligent in your preparation:
Create a business plan
Identify sourcing
Get legit - incorporate, EIN, resale certificate, finances
Other ways to get involved in floristry in 2025:
Volunteer
Freelance
Apply for employment
Consider alternative florist work
