How to Preserve, Harvest, and Use Garlic Scapes | Five ways to maximize your harvest
Who knew something like a garlic scape could be so versatile in the kitchen? In this video I am breaking down what they are, how to harvest them, and how to use and preserve them in your kitchen.
Garlic Scape Pesto Recipe:
1 cup of garlic scapes cut into 1/4 inch pieces
1/2 cup of raw cashews
start with 1/3 cup of olive oil
1/4 tsp of salt
pinch of pepper
Handful of basil
1 tbsp of lemon juice
(optional 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast)
Add of the ingredients to the blender and blend until you reach your desired consistency. You can add small amounts of olive if it is to thick. This is make just under 1 pint.
