The key to painting loosely is accomplished in the following ways:
~ Large shapes before details.
~ Use unconventional tools such as your hands (finger painting is fun!).
~ Work around the canvas instead of staying in one area for too long.
~ Step back often. You can't accurately assess your painting's structure if you are too close.
~ Be free and let go of perfectionism. There is fun in the flaws.
~ Most of all, follow YOUR path, not someone else's rules.
